Despite tough competitions from Internet Explorer 9 and of course Mozilla Firefox, Google chrome has always maintained its simplicity and user friendliness better than all of them.
You must have come across some cool stuffs you can do from the Google chrome address bar like calculations, movie show timings, definitions, weather information etc. But today, I am going to tell you how to update your twitter status directly from chrome address bar! Yes, it’s possible. Its very easy. You have to just follow the following steps.
1. Open Google chrome.
2. Click the settings tool (the Wrench).
3. Go to ‘Options’.
4. Now you are in Basics tab. If not, then go there.
5. Click ‘Manage search engines..’ (next to Default Search).
6. At the bottom of the page, there is a option to add a new search engine.
7. Enter the following values there :
8. Name: Twitter Status Update
9. Keyboard: tweet
10. URL: http://twitter.com/home?status=%s
11. Press ‘Enter’ and close all windows.
12. Now open a new tab.
13. Type ‘tweet’ in the address bar.
14. Now you would be able to see the ‘Search Tweeter Status Update’. Go there.
15. Now enter your update and click ‘Enter’.
16. Now you’r done!
Note: If you are already logged in, then it will load twitter with your status message. If not, then it will ask for usename and password and then, will load twitter with your message.

How-To Tweet from Google Chrome Address Bar
1) There’s a Wrench icon on top right side of Google Chrome, click on it.
2) Now you can find a Menu. Click on “Options” in the menu.
3) A pop-up Window will be displayed, showing “Basics” tab. Click on the “Manage” option next to default search.
4) A new pop-up window will open. Click on “Add” in this window.
5) Enter the following details in the pop-up box:
- Name: Twitter Update
- Keywords: tweet (or any other keyword).
- URL: http://twitter.com/home?status=%s
6) Once completed, hit the OK button and make Twitter as default option. Then close all the open pop-up windows.
7) That’s it, now you can easily tweet from your Google Chrome address bar.
Other alternative for this trick would be to use TweetMeme Button for Google Chrome Browser or opt for Twitter Desktop Applications that basically allow you to receive and post Tweets from your desktop.
